Behind the protest: La Jollan Jane Reldan took credit for the sea of identical blue and yellow ?Due Process for Mayor Filner? posters at Monday?s Civic Center news conference. They were positioned behind former Councilwoman Donna Frye as she made an impassioned plea for Filner to resign.
An avid seal advocate, she is grateful for Filner?s support of the La Jolla Children?s Pool sea cam.
Reldan said she went to a local printer early Monday morning to have the signs printed. She insists she isn?t taking a stand on the merit of the arguments but rather the process which is, in essence, trial by news conference and public opinion poll.
?This is a kangaroo court,? said Reldan, who favors an independent investigation. "Mayor Filner has the right to face his accusers and have the opportunity to defend himself."
