College Football 2012 Schedule: Stanford faces UCLA in Pac-12 Championship

The Stanford Cardinal host the UCLA Bruins at The Farm on Friday in a battle for the Pac-12 Championship.

With the regular season in the rear-view mirror, the Stanford Cardinal and UCLA Bruins will meet in Palo Alto, Calif., on Friday to fight for the Pac-12 Championship. The two teams play for the second time in a six-day period, and the Bruins will look to split the season series to earn themselves a Rose Bowl berth.

UCLA fell 35-17 last week at the Rose Bowl, and Jim Mora's team will be looking for redemption. The Bruins were victims of typical Stanford football last week, as running back Stepfan Taylor led the way with 20 carries for 142 yards and two touchdowns, while the Cardinal won the time of possession battle by 10 minutes in its victory.

For Stanford head coach David Shaw, Friday's game will mean a bit for his own legacy. After Jim Harbaugh returned the school to football glory, he left for the NFL. Now, Harbaugh replacement has a chance to win the Pac-12 title, something Harbaugh couldn't do during his term in Palo Alto.

The game is the second to last Pac-12 game before the bowl season. Oregon State faces Nicholls State on Saturday in a game that was scheduled as the season opener but was cancelled because of Hurricane Isaac.

Friday

No. 16 UCLA at No. 8 Stanford (5 p.m. PT, FOX)

Saturday

Nicholls State at No. 15 Oregon State (11:30 a.m. PT, Pac-12 Network)
