He'll debut in the UFC this year...
MMA Junkie reports that Geronimo "Mondragon" Dos Santos (32-14 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been medically cleared and will return to the UFC. He was set to fight Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 153 in October, but was pulled when a blood test showed he had hepatitis B. UFC officials confirmed he was never released from his contract.
Dos Santos had a yearlong chemotherapy treatment and now has a viral count of zero, which means he's been cured. A test came back successful in March, as did a second test last month. Dos Santos still has to complete some more clerical steps before he can return, but his UFC debut will likely happen before the end of the year, even though an opponent or return date haven't been announced.
He was once a sparring partner for Lyoto Machida. He has an eleven-fight win streak. In 32 wins, he has 21 knockouts and nine submissions. He has only went to a decision once in his wins. He has defeated names like Antonio Mendes and Assuerio Silva. He once fought Junior Dos Santos but lost via first-round TKO due to a cut.
